One of the problems that Philippines is facing is transportation, particularly congestion of the main roads that connect cities. Lately, there have been too many rants about how our trains are inefficient and insufficient and there too have been too much raves about how long it will take you to drive a few kilometers via EDSA. This problem will hopefully be addressed as a solution stands tall, literally. Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like you to meet a project named Skyway Stage Three.
The Skyway Stage Three project mainly involves a 14.8-kilometer elevated toll way connecting South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Buendia and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak. When completed, the 6-lane NLEX-SLEX Connector will run along Osmeña Highway, Quirino Avenue towards Plaza Dilao, cross Pasig River, cut through the back of SM Sta. Mesa towards G. Araneta Avenue, cross Aurora Boulevard, E. Rodriguez, Quezon Avenue, Sgt. Rivera until it reaches Balintawak. Because of this, travel time from South to North and vice versa will be greatly reduced. Traversing Buendia to Balintawak will just be 20 minutes, reaching Makati from Quezon City will just be 15 minutes, Makati to Manila will only be a 10-minute ride and Makati to Sta. Mesa will not take more than 5 minutes. This will definitely help decongest EDSA, C-5 and the rest of Greater Manila Area, which now includes Laguna.
As you’ve probably guessed by now, this project impacts Nuvali significantly. Because of this ongoing 26.7-billion venture of Philippine National Construction Corporation (PNCC) and San Miguel Corporation, prices of properties in Nuvali are expected to go higher as Skyway Stage Three concludes in 24 months, and why not? Reaching Nuvali from the most northern part of Quezon City will take less than an hour. This will allow a faster and more efficient movement of people towards their work and even their education. How amazing it will be to leave the hustle and bustle of the city but have it readily accessible still!
